The Gliders are happy to announce our coaches for the 2019 Summer Season! 

Head Coach: Cameron Higdon Coach Cameron is returning for his 7th summer as the Gliders' Head Coach, and we couldn't be more excited! Cameron served as a coach for Maryville High School this year and continues in his role as an assistant coach for Prime Aquatics. He has been part of our Glider coaching family since 2008. Cameron is a former Pilot Aquatic Club swimmer and was a Western Kentucky University Hilltopper. Coach Cameron is a very well respected coach in East Tennessee swim community. Because of his unique ability to relate to swimmers of all ages and skill levels and his dedication to our team, swimming with the Gliders is like becoming part of a family! 

Assistant Coaches: 

Nathan Benko - Coach Nathan grew up swimming at GCC and is returning for his 3rd summer as an Assistant Coach. He began his swimming career at age 7 with GCC and then transitioned to a year-round swimmer for ACAC at the age of 8. Coach Nathan is also a former collegiate swimmer at Birmingham Southern. He has a high level of commitment to our team and enjoys seeing our swimmers develop not only their skills in the water but also in their love of the sport. 

Kennedy Higdon - We are so happy to have Kennedy join our team as an assistant coach this summer! Kennedy has a strong history in both coaching and swimming. She has served as Head Coach for West Valley Middle School, an Assistant Coach for Prime Aquatics and Head and Assistant Coach for Green Meadow. As a swimmer, Kennedy is incredibly accomplished. She was a 2012 Olympic Trials Qualifier, a 2-time KISL Tennessee state champion for Bearden High School, 2009 TN KISL Female State swimmer of the year, 3-time Female MVP for Bearden High School, scholarship swimmer for University of Tennessee from 2010-2012 and a scholarship swimmer for Western Kentucky University from 2013-2015. 

Sydney Ragsdale - Coach Sydney is joining us for her first summer as an Assistant Coach at GCC, and we are so happy to have her join the Glider family! Coach Sydney is currently attending Berry College, studying Exercise Science and Psychology and just completed her second season with Berry Vikings Swimming and Diving. During her swim career, Coach Sydney was selected as a second-team, All Conference swimmer and is the Berry College record holder in 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 medley relay. She has been a competitive swimmer since the age of 7.
