Good morning Gliders!

Our busiest time of the season is here! Please read this email in its entirety so you are up to speed on all the "Glider Goings-on" for the week!

1. GCC vs. Gulf Park tonight at 6:00pm @ Gulf Park! This is our last dual meet of the summer! Please arrive at Gulf Park no later than 5:15pm, so your swimmer is ready for warm-ups at 5:30pm. Please leave ample time to find parking as it can be challenging around the pool. The address for the pool is: 528 Pensacola Road NW, Knoxville, TN 37923.

Meet After-Party - We are planning to go the Bruster's - Cedar Bluff (1043 Old Cedar Bluff Road) for our after party tonight.

2. Wednesday Practice is GAME DAY, DOUGHNUTS & TIE DYE SHIRT PARTY - We will have game day, donuts and a tie dye t-shirt making party during practice tomorrow morning. Please bring a plain white t-shirt and a gallon sized Ziploc bag to practice with you if your swimmer would like to make a tie dye shirt. If you have fabric scissors, please send them with your swimmer. Coaches Sydney and Kennedy will be leading this activity for the kids during Game Day. 10 and under swimmers from 9:00-10:00am and 11 and ups from 10:00-11:30am. As always, our younger swimmers may stay for the entire time.

3. Glider Fun Day at Main Event - Wednesday, 7/24/2019 at noon - Please RSVP on the web-site by Monday, 7/22/2019 if your swimmer would like to join in on the fun! Cost will be $21per person and will include: laser tag, bowling and bowling shoes, ropes course, billiards, a $10 fun card for video games and 2 pieces of pizza and a beverage. YOU MUST RSVP by Monday to attend!

4. City Meet Pasta Party - Wednesday, 7/24/2019 at 6:00pm at the GCC Clubhouse - Please RSVP on the website and sign up to bring a dish for the Pasta Party! If you new to the team, each year we have a Pasta Party the night before City Meet Prelims to "carb-load" for City. It's a fun tradition for team bonding and sign-making for the tent at City Meet. Please plan to join us!!

5. City Meet - Allan Jones Aquatic Center at UT - 7/25/19 - 7/27/19

     - 10 and Under Prelims - Thursday 7/25/19 - Warm-ups at 1pm, Competition at 3pm

     - 11 and Up Prelims - Friday 7/26/19 - Warm-ups at 7am, Competition at 9am

     - City Meet Championship Finals - Top 16 in each event will compete - Saturday 

          7/27/19 - Warm-ups at 7:00am, Competition at 9am

6. Glider End of the Season Banquet - Sunday, 7/28/2019 at 6:00pm at the Gettysvue Clubhouse. Please join us to celebrate our swim season! Team awards, as well as awards from SMI and City Meet will be given at the banquet. We will also have our team slideshow and an emcee/mistress of ceremonies this year!! You must RSVP on the team web-site for this event by 7/24/2019.

7. Sugarwood Ribbons - We have received our ribbons from our meet with Sugarwood last week. They will be in the kids' ribbon box tomorrow morning at Game Day!

8. Senior Group Retreat - We are beginning a new tradition this year - a Senior Group Retreat! This event will be held on Sunday 7/21/2019 at the Cove. See Coach Kennedy, Sydney or Nathan for more details!
